Forward to GREATER, Black Pastors! Progress has been made. Don't turn back now...

Your family? My family-It Takes A Village

These days, I look at things through spiritual eyes because I can’t handle what is going on in the natural.  When I see evangelicals vote the way they did in order to get the kind of judges they want, I wonder what they’re preaching in their churches.  Their idol is a man.  Where is the “faith” that Jesus teach about?  Just look how many of them are in the battle against God.  Justice doesn’t matter, morality doesn’t matter, love doesn’t matter, and hungry people don’t matter.  All that matters to them is “the spirit of greed” and sending people of color to the outer limit.  Huh! Sad!  That’s not God and not all feel that way.  I have been painfully hurt by white people and black people, even some of my family members, but my choice is to follow Christ and he said “forgive”.  The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God.  Forgiveness and Love are far greater attributes than hatred and murder.  I pray that black pastors don’t encourage black people to leave white churches.  Progress has been made.  I believe the spirit of God would let people know whether or not they’re welcome at a church.  God brings people together to do his good pleasure.  He unites.  For those who are scarred by racism and slavery, I pray that believers forgive, heal and live the precious life Jesus, through death, left you.  I want to plant seeds that save souls, not that bring division.  I pray I haven’t offended anyone in Christ.  Stay focused.  There will always be distractions.  Set your affection on things in God.  Intercessors, please pray for the souls in America and the soul of America.  Now, I submitted an article to AL.com and it wasn’t selected to print, please read:

Pastor called action of Mayor Woodfin insulting…

I am 67 years old, lived in poverty all my life, grew up in Selma, Alabama, remember Ku Klux Klan driving through my neighborhood when I was 5 years old, can still see the hoods on their heads and remember the terror it caused my single-parent mother.  I came to live in Birmingham when I was 8.  Just look where God has brought me from.  In 2009, I wrote numerous black churches in and around the West End area where I had lived most of my life.  I didn’t ask for financial help, just that they would let their congregation know about my organization, Community Families United Network, Inc.  I was so excited and wanted to reach out and help people in their struggles.  I wrote 9 black pastors in that area and didn’t receive any acknowledgement at all, not a letter or a phone call to say we’ll be praying for you.  The spirit of God said to my heart that their agenda is not my (God’s) agenda.  So, to hear a shepherd of God say he is insulted that Mayor Woodfin didn’t call pastors together to talk to them about another ministry moving in to help is very disappointing to me.  I pray that as Christians, we stay focused on the needs of people.  The West End community has been infested with crimes of every nature for many, many years.  I thank God that someone is willing to come in and work on a solution to effect change.  It’s amazing and it’s God.  What do the pastors need to get together to talk about now?  Talk doesn’t bring about change, ACTION does.  Be encouraged Mayor Woodfin and thank you for taking action.
